Join Scott Ashton Swan, Artistic Producer of APPLAUSE! Musicals Society, and some of Vancouver's most exciting musical theatre talent, as they present an evening of songs from musicals that opened in 1959, along with a look at the people, places and events that made history that year. Included will be music from the popular shows like Gypsy, Sound of Music and Once Upon a Matress as well as from the lesser known shows like Fiorello!, Juno, Little Mary Sunshine, Lock Up Your Daughters, Redhead, Saratoga, and Take Me Along.

Showtunes Year By Year is a revue series focusing on the musical theatre and history of a particular year. Turning the clocks back the evening features songs from musicals that opened in a particular year. The evening features local musical theatre performers with piano accompaniment and an informative, entertaining and nostaligic commentary by APPLAUSE! Artistic Producer Scott Ashton Swan.
