Tenderloin (1960)
Music by Jerry Bock, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick
Book by
George Abbott & Jerome Weidman
Music Directed by Christopher King
Directed by Ian Farthing

Set in the Tenderloin, a red-light district in 1890s Manhattan, the show recounts the efforts of a crusading minister as he attempts to shut down the area, and the staunch defenders of debauchery out to stop him. The "do-gooder" Reverend Brock is aided by a reporter with a hidden agenda of his own. A big, rousing vintage show that still packs quite a punch with hot songs like Artificial Flowers, Little Old New York, and Good Clean Fun.
